"Eugh," she muttered, passing him a plate to dry. She left her place to go back and pick up the empty bowl her dog was currently cleaning with his tongue, wet fingers rubbing between his ears. Returning to the basin, she set the bowl into the water and got back to work on the other plates.
"We wouldn't have had servants either, I suspect. Bethany and I never had any and it's been years since my mother had them. Maybe we'd hire someone to clean the house every so often," Hawke said thoughtfully. "Getting Bodahn and Orana was just dumb luck." And a bit of saving, but who was keeping track?
